Foundayo (orforglipron) is an FDA-approved, once-daily GLP-1 tablet for adults with obesity (BMI 30 or higher), or adults with overweight (BMI 27 or higher) who have at least one weight-related health condition. It is used together with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, and it is prescribed only after a licensed provider reviews your health history.
Orforglipron, a GLP-1 receptor agonist. Foundayo is available in 0.8 mg, 2.5 mg, 5.5 mg, 9 mg, 14.5 mg and 17.2 mg tablets. Treatment starts at 0.8 mg once daily, and your provider increases the dose in steps of at least 30 days, up to a maximum of 17.2 mg once daily.
Orforglipron activates the GLP-1 receptor, the same pathway your body uses to signal fullness after a meal, which can help reduce appetite. Take one tablet a day, with or without food, and swallow it whole. Do not break, crush or chew it. In 72-week clinical trials, adults without diabetes taking the 17.2 mg dose lost an average of 11.1% of their body weight, compared with 2.1% on placebo. Individual results vary.
Foundayo has a boxed warning about a possible risk of thyroid C-cell tumors. Do not take it if you or a family member has had medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC), or if you have Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2). The most common side effects include nausea, constipation, diarrhea, vomiting, indigestion and stomach pain. Tell your provider right away about severe stomach pain that does not go away. If you use birth control pills, switch to a non-oral method or add a backup method for 30 days after starting Foundayo and after each dose increase. Stop taking Foundayo if you become pregnant.

Take it as soon as you remember, but do not double up on your next dose. If you miss 7 or more doses in a row, contact your provider, because your dose may need to be restarted at a lower strength.

Do not take Foundayo if you or a family member has had medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC), if you have Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2), or if you have had a serious allergic reaction to orforglipron. It should not be used during pregnancy or together with another GLP-1 medication.
